Sakura Navi - Forecast in 2025 2.5

Sakura Navi is set to become available in 2025, as announced by the Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC). The JMC has released estimated flowering and full bloom dates for the cherry blossoms (Somei Yoshino trees) at approximately 1,000 viewing locations across Japan, spanning from Hokkaido to Kagoshima. This information is typically published around March and April, with updates for Hokkaido released in May.

What is “Sakura Navi?”
Sakura Navi is an application designed to provide users with detailed forecasts regarding the flowering and full bloom dates of cherry blossoms, along with a Flowering Meter that tracks the blooming progress across Japan. In addition to these core features, the app includes functionalities such as Proximity Notification for Cherry Blossom SPOTS, which alerts users when they are near a cherry blossom viewing location, and a Stamp Card to log previously visited sites. This app aims to enhance the experience of viewing cherry blossoms during spring trips in Japan.

What is “MY SPOT?”
MY SPOT refers to a user’s favorite cherry blossom viewing locations, with the ability to register up to 30 sites.

Cherry Blossom Flowering Forecast Map
The Cherry Blossom Forecast Map visually displays the locations of Cherry Blossom SPOTS throughout Japan using pins. The colors of these pins indicate the growth percentages of cherry blossoms at each location. Users can access route guidance to their selected Sakura Spot through the app's direction feature. Notably, if Sakura Map is opened outside of Japan, it automatically centers itself on locations within Tokyo.

Details Screen
On this screen, users can view specific forecasts for flowering and full bloom dates along with the Flowering Meter for each selected location. Locations can be added to MY SPOT by clicking "Add to MY SPOT," and users can apply a Previously Visited Stamp by selecting "Visited Stamp," which is enabled only when they are in proximity to that location.

MY SPOT (Cherry Blossom Calendar)
This feature presents a calendar for the Hanami season, marking important forecast dates of flowering and full bloom based on registered MY SPOT locations.

Stamp Card
The Stamp Card allows users to view locations where they have applied their Previously Visited Stamp.

Proximity Notification for a Cherry Blossom SPOT
Users receive notifications when they approach Cherry Blossom SPOTS. However, this function requires permissions for location services and notifications on the device. Notifications may not always be sent due to various reception conditions or inaccuracies in location information.

Settings
Users can customize settings regarding the area from which they wish to receive Proximity Notifications for Cherry Blossom SPOTS.

• The flowering and full bloom date forecasts are estimates based on proprietary methodologies; absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
• Information related to MY SPOT and Stamp Card will be lost if the app is uninstalled.

Growth of Cherry Blossoms:
Cherry blossom buds form during the summer and undergo various stages: dormancy, awakening, and growth. After entering dormancy post-summer formation, these buds awaken during fall through winter, conditioned by cold temperatures, and begin growing as spring temperatures rise.
